Unexpectedly happened upon a plotter printout of when I joined WITSIG on Compuserve--created as the next generation of Netwits SIG...so yeah, my online presence with my pen name pre-dates even this. The pen name originated in the mid-1970s via the ASWLC publication.

Another #retrocomputing topic arose from a political cartoon posted about Tory policies, upon which I remarked that the Brexit critter resembled a Vogon. The counter opinion was that the thing was more like a cave troll, so I went looking for an image of a Vogon to prove my point, and subsequently discovered https://www.vogons.org/ where ancient MSDOS adaptations to today's machines are discussed.

It's a good name for such a website, because at the time I was bopping around Compuserve, Commodore 64 was sporting an addictive text game called Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. My kingdom for a version that would run on the latest versions of Windows.
