There seems to be a natural element of bureaucracies where leadership makes unexplained, insane decisions and/or demands... one just doesn't do everything required for those choices to pan out.
Which would be much more amusing if people weren't being killed.
I am hearing opinions that the units that so famously made themselves a laughingstock were not originally meant for combat - they were sent to Belarus with the plan to act as a decoy in the North of UA, to drag UA forces away from the real combat in the East and South. Then some genius decided to order them to march on Kyiv. Hilarity ensued.
Unfortunately, the rest of RU forces, especially those advancing from Crimea, are much better prepared for combat and as of now are pushing UA forces back. Ukraine should prepare for a prolonged, very bloody war. And the rest of EU should prepare for a large influx of refugees. This is going to be a really hard year.
Ya, a lot of what comes down the grapevine is disinformation, so I'm going to go with various sources about that. And the last I heard, Ukraine is indeed prepared, and that Russia isn't prepared for the high number of filled body bags that'll be returning to the motherland. The Russkies that get vaporized will simply have to be presumed involuntarily cremated.
Which would be much more amusing if people weren't being killed.
