i am not comparing to bluesky.

mastodon's implementation of blocks literally violates the activitypub spec, because it federates *the block*, rather than the *side effects* of the block.

which is the worst possible thing you can do when you are providing an anti-harassment tool, because *the block* becomes a signal to the harasser that their account is burned and they need to switch to a new account to continue the harassment.

the right thing to do is to federate the side effects (e.g. unfollow) and then send inbound messages to /dev/null.

but the mastodon developers live in a fantasy world where they believe remote servers can be trusted to enforce things that the server owner doesn't want.

iPhone touch screen failing??

I have this weird thing where some parts of the screen suddenly stop working. I can't scroll or tap on it. Or sometimes it stuck "down", and when I tap elsewhere it acts like it's a multitouch.

Initially I thought it was a cleaning issue, but if I tap the power button off and on, everything is fine until the next time.

It's not the same region, but usually the bottom half (which obviously gets more use).

Searching for info is hard...all broken screen reports.

Has anyone heard of anything similar?

 Byrne, a former CEO of online retailer Overstock,
used the phrase half a dozen times Thursday as he participated in a nearly three-hour-long event on X Spaces.

His remarks came amid heightened worries about political violence,
and he acknowledged during the event that his references to strangling or blowtorching officials were threatening and could be considered felonies.
