I won't idolize China. There's a whole lot very wrong with the country; only to name their political system, the racsism, their [economic] colonialism and far more. But it's easy to go right when some of the Western countries are determined to go that wrong !
But one thing, contrary to the rich western countries, they recognized the existential threat to the planet and took early action on it. They'll have to with a very large population aspiring the same life style as the West.
And the centralized politics make very large activities possible.

The increasing restrictions on under 18s accessing adult/main library sections are disturbing. As a kid who borrowed adult books and went to adult talks/meetings at the #library, this horrifies me. I wouldn't have the #education and "intelligence" I have now without that. They also provided escape and respite from too much to get into here. #Libraries saved me.

im rachael, a trans woman in indiana who was fired eleven months ago for being trans. i have been job hunting this entire time. i have had many interviews. but no one wants to hire a trans, so i cant fund my expenses or eventual move to a safer state.

Like that Scientific American piece yesterday, it's when it's the Right, the facts aren't important, and when it benefits the Left, there can never be enough facts to satisfy. These decisions are so common now I imagine it has to do with them launching their stealthy authoritarian plans decades ago. Good people will prevail.
