One of the first things President Harris should work towards is the expansion of the SCOTUS, adding 4 more justices, bringing the total to 13. Without an expansion, we're looking at the possibility of 40 years of right-wing extremist control of the nation's highest court. I'm up once again to a miserably wet n muggy day. Misty, cloudy skies, and drizzling rain greeting me #today. It's not a very good greeting to be starting #myday, for sure. But here I am. 😏

So, I was not in much of a mood to bother getting up n at em to face it #today. Just looked out to see the misty morning sky and decided to just moan n groan and roll over n rest my head in bed for a little longer. 😴

The biggest thing I learned from school as a child was that a big part of life is just a misery that you have to endure. Boundaries are decided by other people, and you don't even get to choose whether or not you sit next to the person who punches you in the arm all day. Some adults in charge of you care about you; some don't; it is random and needs to be assessed constantly. That doing more than expected or doing something amazing was irritating to everyone.

Took me decades to unlearn that.

You go, Elizabeth Warren! Both SCOTUS & the #GQP cult have been after all consumer & worker protections and agencies. #SCROTUS put its fetid finger on the scale and undid decades of advances & ‘woke’ regulatory agencies relying on experts.

I just had a thought… not sure where you are in relation to cities with large teaching colleges, but if there are any… In NY I know the dental schools need live teeth, and want their students to hopefully learn well and get good results.
The kicker is, they’re not free (maybe some are if they can’t get patients), but it’s very low cost. Students/interns whatever but closely supervised, yada yada…

The last time I checked (which has been a while), the closest was in Gainesville (UF) and by the time I figured travel (for multiple appointments!) into the mix, the cost savings weren't that great. Certainly not enough to offset the hassle. At one point Mr. Stranger drove up there for somethingorother... it was a flop, but I don't remember why. We were neck deep in taking care of Dad at that point. Anywho the last time I called them, they sent me down a rabbit hole of referrals that were mostly low-income clinics, which of course we didn't qualify for (and I would not have wanted to take a chair from someone who needed it anyway). I finally did find a dentist who wasn't on crack (not really joking about that) and actually wanted to do dentist stuff (not joking about that either) and was compassionate.

We had great luck at UF with the dog, but we humans did not fare as well.

Sorry to hear (except for the dog)... don't know if anything's changed (season or staff or any new options) but it sounds like you gave "other" route a shot. ugh. Good luck with tooth and finding treatment.

oh I've found treatment... now I need to find money... or find a way to hang on til I can switch insurance

Es macht mich immer wieder fassungslos, wie detailliert Unternehmen Daten von Nutzern erfassen, daraus Profile bilden und diese dann gewinnbringend verkaufen und Dritte dadurch zusätzlichen Profit machen.

Sowas zeigt die absolute Verkommenheit der Werbeunternehmen, Datensammler und vieler Konzerne.

Ich würde mir wünschen, dass derartiges per DSGVO verboten wird und Unternehmen die sich nicht dran halten, immer die Maximalstrafe zahlen müssen und bei Wiederholung ein Gewerbeverbot in der EU verhängt wird.
