During my time in the tech startup sphere, I learned many lessons, some of them tough. A few of them:

No one will tell you that your business plan sucks if its suckage means they get paid
Sometimes that guy you think is a douche is the one dude who’ll have your back when things are tough
Don’t do more work than you have to, especially when you feel guilty about not doing more work

More importantly: quit if it all becomes unfeasible.

I'm curious as to why you think Birth Flu is so dangerous. The Pasteur Institute was trying to sell biological weapons in 1890, a good 28 years before 1918.

Crossover events can be deadly. A virus adapted to pigs is going to stick out like a sore thumb inside a human being. The parainfectious inflammation can and will kill. But that doesn't mean it will spread like wildfire.

I’ve been involved with startups, sometimes at an executive level, but that’s no longer what I’m involved with.

I’ve worked at successful startups and unsuccessful startups. And I’ve learned quite a bit along the way.

But earlier this year, a side venture started doing well, and I finally said, “You know what? This can no longer be something I do on the side.” And this venture is not a tech startup.

I see Microsoft still haven't fixed the crash in Phone Link when you focus the message list. So, here's my app module to work around this and add some other conveniences. @BorrisInABox I have this weird issue with my phone where Bluetooth regularly fails in such a way that my Airpods won't connect and Phone Link won't send messages. My friend doesn't have this problem though and I'm wondering whether it's because I have a braille display paired, even though I don't use it that often with the phone. The only fix I've found is to turn off Bluetooth on the phone and turn it back on. Happens at least once a day.

@BorrisInABox Oh oh, yes, I know what you're talking about now. I have calls disabled for Phone Link because it wants to steal calls from my Airpods, but I re-enable calls on demand occasionally if I need it for a specific call, which isn't that often for me. Just in case you don't know, alt+s gets you to settings, which is useful for quickly disabling calls.

Yep. Problem for me is that calls work more reliably than sending messages. And sometimes, new messages won't show up, but I'll get all the pointless notifications like there's no tomorrow. I can turn those off, but then I'd probably get nothing but phone calls. If I turn those off, I'd probably get nothing.
