Damn! This is a big freakin' deal! Because I'm running my own
Nextcloud instance, and they added a
Mapping app to the set of one-click installs, and #
GraphHopper is one of the free #
DrivingDirections services you can add to it, I'm in the #
News loop about this.
Somebody could spin-up a simple
Nextcloud Hub, and pull in mapping data for political uses and build a grassroots organizing plan for getting a people-force out to doorways. I did something a bit like this in 2007-2008 but it wasn't anywhere near this simple. I had to precode a shitload of #
VisualBasic stuff into an Access database file with preloaded data for the locality that was doing the work and get it to them somehow as an excessively large file. In this case, with all the built-in security and sharing #
Nextcloud has,
a single person could set this up and run it out of their home Internet connection off of an old PC converted into a server.
