Glad about gladiolus

Learning all the time. Up until this year, I had no idea perennial gladiolus existed. What beauties. These are planted in the delphinium beds. Hardy in zones 3 to 9 and we're in 5.5. Otherwise, tender gladiolus corms have to be dug up and kept indoors over the winter. Just like dahlias. I like perennials that just go to sleep under the snow and pop back up in the spring. It's enough work taking our cacti, succulents, and epiphyllums out for the summer and back in the plant room for the winter.

Gladiolus ramosus 'Vulcano.'
More or less. Depending on microsites. Usually 5b but we had spring like weather followed by a -30C cold snap last winter. Major damage to the Okanagan Valley vineyard and tree fruit crops. We lost an old grapevine, a wisteria, and our apricot only has about half of its leaves. That was about zone 4.
