It’s a trap πŸͺ€
The IT meme concerns the dangers of using the AWS Free Tier FOR inexperienced developers and sysadmins. It compares the Free Tier to traps that catch unsuspecting users with billing that can bankrupt them. The meme warns that users should be aware of the potential costs of using the Free Tier, as they may be charged if they exceed the free usage limits.

Whenever I see memes based on it I have to mention the original source - the very excellent Buttersafe comic πŸ˜ƒ

One of my secret fantasies is watching somebody who has implemented their stack on AWS, and then wants to move to another provider. And all the engineers on your staff are contractors...

Interesting trivia - and off topic, but when I lived in North Georgia I kept a pot of venus flytraps outdoors. (They are native to North and South Carolina, around Hilton Head).
By FAR the most common thing caught in them were Harvestmen. (Grand daddy long legs).
The things gotta have a scent or nectar lure, or something.

Fking agree, any free tier is a trap in IT. And if it's free, don't forget, YOU are the product πŸ˜†

The Lure is meant for the prey
Alt4You: A four-panel comic. Panel 1: a simply drawn person looks at a Venus Fly Trap plant and says, "Why would a fly land on something like this?"

Panel 2: "Rats should be ashamed for falling in this trap" (mousetrap)

Panel 3: "Bears!! This is ridiculous" (bear trap with spiky jaws)

Panel 4: "This must be fun!" (AWS free tier)

The traps in the first three images are not in fact billing-related traps like the alt text says. They are traps for bugs/animals.

It's always so hilarious seeing a person who's only ever used AWS tooling check out another vendor. It's like being let out of prison once you see how overpriced and primitive the AWS UI is.

The original is better in a slightly darker way: https://www.buttersafe.com/2011/01/27/traps/

We're all in the obvious trap. It's called capitalism.
