Well the article linked actually says:
According to ch-aviation, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is 4.15 years old and was delivered to the airline on July 23rd 2020. The airline placed the order for the aircraft in question all the way back in December 2011. As of April 30th, 2024, the aircraft has accumulated 17,901 flight hours and 2,065 flight cycles.

It is unlikely that the problem is related to Boeing's poor quality control issues; it is likely related to a run-of-the-mill component failure. As mentioned previously, the landing was precautionary, and no systems were lost.

Jetliners are often built with redundant systems, and many have at least two hydraulic pumps and three separate systems to ensure that the aircraft is still controllable.

On Thursday it seems unlikely the BoE/MPC will start to reduce interest rates, likely citing continuing 'threats' to the 2% inflation rate now 'achieved'.

And these threats are: workers seeking above inflation wage rises, to try & rebuild living standards that have suffered over ten years of attrition & reduction.

So just to be clear: interest rates will stay high until workers accept that they do not deserve even the living standards of the past let alone any betterment!

I've got to go fill my wife's swimming pool. I should have left it up all winter, it got a rip in storage, and had to patch that first. And then wait on the next tide. I fill it with seawater, it saves draining the well, and chemicals, we can just flush it again every high tide if desired.

I've been experiencing some unusual battery drain on my Samsung S24 Ultra lately. After checking, I found that the Facebook app had been active in the background for nearly two hours (out of 10 hours since unplugging the charger). I had already set all the restrictions to prevent this app from running in the background, yet it still managed to stay active for almost two hours before I uninstalled it. I'm curious to see how the battery performs today. How did it manage to run in the background despite these settings?

@doerk @pkotrcka I'm using GrapheneOS on my Pixel 7 - that I'm using as a secondary device.
I'll consider switching again to Pixels as primary phones (with GrapeheneOS) as soon as the battery life will be better. With my Pixel 7, I could barely reach the evening. With the S24 Ultra, I'm using not more than 40/50% a day.

Erstens ist das linke Bild kein realistischer Grundriß.

Zweitens würden für die Umgestaltung dermaßen viele Fenster, Türen, Heizungs-, Wasser- und Abwasserleitungen geändert werden, dass die Kosten in keinem Verhältnis mehr ständen.

Diese Groß-Plakate wurden in Erlangen vor einiger Zeit aufgehängt. Stadtverwaltung hatte das Ziel, die #Photovoltaik deutlich auszubauen. Im Moment sieht es so aus, als ob das Ziel von 100MW im Jahr 2026 deutlich verfehlt wird. Fördermittel und Invest-Mittel für städtische Gebäude werden gestrichen. Stadtverwaltung wird dann mehr für Strom zahlen - schlecht für den Haushalt der nächsten Jahre
