Fry your own. I had a girlfriend some 30 years ago who was from Texas. She and her family had tacos one night and invited me to stay.

They put about an inch of oil in a pan and then would put regular corn tortillas in the oil once hot. A few seconds flat in the oil then using tongs fold them in half. Hold open with one half out of the oil. Cook a few more seconds then flip. The shells remain pliable unless you cook them crispier. You control it.
