I have to look that up

Just come back from a lovely community fun day at a local estate, live music from the Brixton Chamber Orchestra and local residents, free jerk chicken and burgers (had we known we would have skipped lunch!) and all the face painting, costume and community spirit that renews your faith in Humanity.
There's more that unites than divides us, like 'singing and dancing'....everyone loves a bit of that. ๐Ÿ˜€

Iโ€™m a little fed up with the Snap managed Hugo updates breaking my site. The theme hasnโ€™t changed. None of my templates changed. Yet now some Google Analytics stub, which I donโ€™t use BTW, prevents the site from building. I think Iโ€™m going to just go with binary download and lock in the version.

I think I may have an explanation of my screen touch problems.

EDIT: Spoke too soon. Just got a phantom touch. But I still suspect it's related.

My lightning port recently went from flakey to "doesn't work" (I've cleaned it, I think it's more that I've stressed it too much using the phone while it's charging).

So I've been using a magnetic charger, and recently I've started getting overheating warnings from my phone. I don't know yet if it's because it's a no-name third party charger, or another problem, but I just realized that the problem occurs most when I'm using the phone while it charges. So I suspect it's heat-related. I just switched to the magnetic charger from my car (which is also slower) and neither problem seems to be happening. We'll see if it stays that way.

I know I gave up on the no-name cables and chargers about 5 years ago. I spend a lot more to get the cables in a wrap with extra silicone connecting around joint cable to connector. I love the 90ยฐ style for less stress on that place. I have the phantom touch issues you have but I generally donโ€™t use the phone while charging. Only use for the wireless charging pad was while phone dried out from dishwater splash and the wired charging cable wouldnโ€™t work.

I am not concerned about targeted advertising - between Amazon, Petsmart, Chewy, etc. that information is already out there. I do wonder how this information could be used in other ways though. ๐Ÿค”

My favorite app for IDing mystery plants in my garden is Plant.net. It almost always gives me the correct ID in its first few suggestions. But sometimes it gives a wildly innacurate ID, suggesting something from Eurasia when a plant is actually native to the Pacific Northwest.

So when I used Plant.net to ID a volunteer coming up in a container with a native yarrow, I laughed when it told me I had a peanut plant. The photo shows what I saw when I pulled the plant up.

In my defense, the peanut was not visible until after I pulled the plant. And since I don't feed birds with peanuts in the shell, I didnt think there was much chance of a peanut plant popping up in my yard

The *peanut plant* is now ensconced in its own container where it will hopefully have a long, happy life.

It was about $125 for the shot. For comparison, a full bottle retails for about $470. There are about 17 shots in a bottle. I was expecting between $40 and $70.

There was a time where folks didnโ€™t want to talk about climate resilience, only mitigation, because somehow it would take away from cutting GHGs? That was wrong. Now weโ€™re in an era where resilience & mitigation are separate. Also misguided. We need combined mitigation & resilience forever. Letโ€™s go

BC.

Come ON.

Absorb Translink as a provincial corporation and acknowledge that *transit doesn't have to turn a profit*. It's a PUBLIC SERVICE. If the Federal government can pay 24billion dollars over a few years to subsidize a pipeline that no one wants, they can surely fork over 600 million a year to help transit run. Do something good, Eby, you're making it hard to want to vote for you.
