I love it that people back in the days had some funny jokes that are still valid today: One of my favorites:

One of my favorite old jokes from when I was a teen.:

There once was a town called Trid and near this town was a mountain. One day a fellow from Trid decided to climb the mountain. He started but he was kicked off. He figured if he was unworthy surely a a priest from the city would be, but he too was kicked off. Together the villager and the priest went to the neighboring town and asked the rabbi to give it a try. He did and got to the top. The rabbi asked why he wasnt kicked off and the mountain responded "Silly Rabbi, Kicks are for Trids!"

(For the young-uns here, Boomers will remember that the advertising slogan for Trix cereal, a breakfast staple, was "Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids.)

One of my uncles would periodically come for thanksgiving, drink too much, and tell wild shaggy stories. My favorite one as a kid was his gorilla joke.

A woman is home watching a news flash on TV about an escaped gorilla from the zoo, when a rumbling noise comes from her roof and her signal goes out. She runs outside to see a gorilla on her roof tearing apart her TV antenna, so she runs back inside and calls 911.
A van arrives in a matter of minutes. An old guy gets out and unloads a ladder, a long pole, a dog, a net, and a shotgun. The woman runs out to find out what he’s up to.
He tells her “Zoo says it's a male gorilla, so I'm gonna take the ladder and climb up behind him to poke him in the ass with this long pole. It’s gonna make him jump down where my dog will be waiting to bite him by the nuts until I can throw the net over him so I can take him back to the zoo
At this he hands her the shotgun
She asks "what’s this for?”, and the guy says "If the gorilla grabs the pole and knocks me off the roof, you shoot the goddamned dog".

FIL used to tell what Mr. Stranger calls "shaggy dog stories" that went on and on and on. Like most young men, he sought to emulate his father. I quickly disabused him of any notion of wasting my time in that fashion. It has only been in the last couple of years that I found out why I have no tolerance for that (AuDHD). Ha.

@Lisa Stranger - I would recommend that you not watch the film "The Aristocrats" It is a documentary about a single joke. It is a joke that can run on for 30 minutes or longer. (It also is not, is most definitely not, a film for innocent ears.)

(I just re-watched it the other night, I think on Amazon/Prime video.)

Indeed. They have to made sure that "the story" is consistent. It would look bad if it were not...

BTW. have you noticed how reports have evaded specifying if the gun stock is collapsible or not? I've read several times that it "may have been". This does not make sense - first of all the gun exists in custody and so not in past-tense. Second, it either is or is not. Take a look and tell me...

Dad apparently bought the gun, so we should know what it is. Baseline fire rate of an AR-15 is 5/rounds per second (civilian model does not have 3-round burst).

We have the !@#$ gun. We should know if it had been modified (say, with a bump stock). Modification of some form would seem to be indicated if Crooks ripped off 5-10 shots (suggesting an experienced shooter) YET was such a shitty marksman that he missed his primary target, hit three other people, and snowbirded up to six more shots that nobody knows where they went.

Law enforcement has to know. How many shots, who was hit, where they were standing, in what order were they hit. It's on !@#$%^&*( videotape! This isn't a fuckin' remake of _Rashomon._

And Candyman is now saying 'a quarter of an inch more ...' which is obfuscatory bullshit, like calling the 'wound' 2 cm WIDE vs. 2 cm LONG. (One's a nearly inch-wide hole, and the other is a nearly inch-wide scratch. And if a hole had been punched in his ear, DJT wouldn't be playing golf the next day with a pristine white gauze pad loosely affixed to his ear.)

Coutinho is whining about Labour dropping the Freeze Peach Act apparently.

Yeah, I've already forgotten who she was too but that's not the point.

Free speech is protection from sanction for criticising the government, primarily. It's not a requirement to prioritise fascist viewpoints to the detriment of those harmed by their expression. Which is what the Act was for. It was created to enforce the legitimisation of the far right viewpoints that so many members of Coutinho's party hold.

Which party was that? I forget the name. Something to do with the Gaelic for robbing bastards, wasn't it? Anyway they're irrelevant in British politics now.

Base part number is EAO # 95-313.000. They are obsolete to the point that I can't even find a datasheet to build a complete part number. I'd recommend using NKK KP01-15AN instead. The NKK parts are current and available in both throughhole and SMD versions. Grass Valley switched from Veetronix and EAO to NKK for all their new products as well.

@bekopharm Oh yeah, if you don't mind knockoffs, Honyone PB06 switches are super similar to the NKK KP01 switches at 1/10 the cost. Available on AliExpress. These are the Honyone switches.
