I don’t know if Harris’s PR strategy is prudent or sustainable, but it sure is fun right now. A presidential candidate hasn’t made me feel this good (not good as in confident of winning but just good rooting for them) since Obama in 2008.

Part of me hates that our politics has devolved into this. But Trump is a bully. The way to stop a bully is to punch them in the mouth. Always has been. Always will be.

I saw something in the middle of the pandemic about air recirculating and being filtered on planes in a way that made it safer than airport air

This was before Omicron and my thinking is, it’s not going to protect you from the guy behind you coughing. And who knows if there is a difference in planes. I’ll keep wearing the mask.

Not saying this to excuse anyone, only to sadly point out that clear, concise, accurate dissemination of public health information has been horrendous

Apparently it was a pistol, according to the report. Strange factor: his parents had hired the tree-trimmers. He asked them to leave and then shot the one guy while they were packing up, after threatning to kill one of them.

Weirdly, he called 911 twice to report he was hearing aliens.

My guess - either he is sane and lost his temper, but because he is a lawyer, he seeded his own insanity defense, or, yeah, a genuine psychotic episode.

A group in the UK that I'm hugely interested in are Library Of Things.

At a very basic level, they offer products such as power tools for rental rather than ownership.

But it's a little bit more than that:

They have a very clear vision, which is centred around *everybody* in a neighbourhood having access to quality tools, toys and technologies, reducing waste, and also *repairing* tools rather than landfilling them and buying new ones.

On top of that: they run workshops on how to use the tools etc; this is not a profit-driven venture.

I don't think they're on Mastodon, so I'm going to take this opportunity, given everything I've been talking about this morning, to give them a little shout-out.

If you're in a position to promote them, that would be great.
