A screenshot from my website that reads, " The topic of AI (Artificial Intelligence) comes up quite a lot these days. The learning models that have been falsely labeled “intelligent,” when in reality they’re not really all that much more than a social media algorithm that, instead of feeding content, it consumes, and then also feeds content. Like a chatbot from the nineties that spits out random words and images that have been fed into it. On this page, I intend to portrary my stance on AI, so that is fully clear. There is almost entirely nothing good about the current idea of what “AI” is, and I fully oppose algorithms that steal from, rip off, and disenfranchise artists, writers, musicians, and tech workers. Some people will try to argue that there are just differing views, or that it’s a nuanced subject, or someone you know might start sharing AI-generated images but ironically, and you should never take these people seriously. Every single one of them is operating in the mindset that all of the other people around them are either in on the scheme, or that everyone else is just unintelligent. Do not give this power consuming, planet-destroying, theft-tech any space, whatsoever. "

In 1984, I was homeless for two months. I had a job, but I couldn't afford the rent. (I was lucky, though. I wasn't on the street. I was living in a broke down camper at the lake.)

I tried to steal food, and I could not go through with it.

Then, back in the aughts, I saw an old woman stealing Tylenol at Walmart.

It broke my heart. I looked the other way.

I'm quite sure that these 'compliance people' don't live on another planet! This is done on purpose to 'soften' the actual effect and meaning. These 'compliance people' are the same assholes. Comply! Comply! Stop resisting!
It's purely a legal term and has dick all to do with low level video whose goal is only fidelity to reality, not stifling copying or means of reproduction.

I normally don't do this, but I did a risky thing and installed iOS 18 public beta on my primary (and only) iPhone. I've only been using it for a few hours, but I have to say I'm quite impressed. Regarding braille screen input, aside from the new features, it just feels a lot snappier and more reliable. I haven't had it lag, fail to handle contracted input correctly, etc. like I saw in prior versions. Everything else feels pretty snappy and solid too. I've filed a couple of VoiceOver bugs, but they're mostly obscure things I can work around or avoid. Time will tell, but so far, this feels like a really solid release. And many of you know I don't give that kind of praise lightly. 😀 #accessibility
