Photos of the internal damage caused by a drone strike on the wing of a CL-415 waterbomber in California 10 days ago show that even tiny drones pack a punch. The drone, pieces of which were recovered from inside the wing, has been identified as weighing less than half a pound. The impact over Pacific Palisades bent the front of a rib and a horizontal leading edge member, and the water-scooping amphib required significant repairs.

Well they sometimes have some extra leading edge thickness for bird resistance, but there us only so much you can do without too much of a weight penalty. In general the structure is designed with redundancy so a hit like this will not bring the aircraft down, so you can safely land it and repair it instead.

My old mother is in a nursing home these days and enjoys her skips.I usually take a multi pack with me when I visit. Had to switch to quavers the last 3 or 4 times as I couldn't get skips.
