Why are there so many bonker stair renovations out there?! Some poor souls are being paid to build these.
So photo of a red and white painted kitchen that has stairs integrated into the smooth countertop. You can see a fridge, a bar space, and an oven in the background lit up with track lighting. A bar stool sits next to the bottom part of the stairs, and a few plants have been placed on the stair (where you step) as decoration next to where you would stand by the kitchen sink... centimeters away.

Good morning!

We ended up with about an inch of snow on the grassy areas and the trees. The road and the sidewalks looked clear, so I decided to go out on my early-morning walk.

Mistake. The road and the walks had black ice. So I turned around and came back inside. I really can't risk a fall. The ice will melt wherever the sun hits it as the day goes on, even though the temperatures are not supposed to get above freezing. And then we go into the deep freeze for a couple of days. I probably won't be walking for a while.

The good news is that I'll have plenty of time to write and try to get my WIP in shape to send out to a reader for a Christmas present.

Good morning! Thank goodness you realized there was black ice early on. That stuff is treacherous.

Now you have a few guilt-free days for staying nice and warm. Enjoy the hibernation! I'll be doing the same, but just because of the temperatures. Fortunately we didn't accumulate any black ice.

Happy #SlackerdaySaturday! I slept in this morning, so it's another slow start.

We're sliding into the deep freeze so I'll spend most of the day inside. Even the birds didn't come to the feeders until the sun shone directly on the food. Now they're making up for lost time.

There's not much I have to do today, so I may take some time out to watch one of my favorite Christmas movies, "Love Actually". It's regarded as comedy/romance but it always makes me a little sad as well.

I woke up with a pinched nerve. To avoid a trip to urgent care or the ER, I'm trading my MIL a dozen bakery donuts for a few muscle relaxers. If I can get it to relax for a day or two, I'll be fine. Currently, I'm not my best, and I almost had to ask my wife for help using the bathroom. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Luckily, I managed to keep my dignity a little longer. I blame my work for this. The last week was stressful beyond the usual.

Good morning, Mastodon friends! Winter Solstice will be a chilly one here, but the sunshine makes the outdoors look happy and bright. Even though Jan. and Feb. usually are the coldest and snowiest parts of the winter, my mood always improves once the days start getting longer instead of shorter!
My fun holiday project for the day is dehydrating mini marshmallows. I've never done it before, but supposedly they're great to eat by the handful or add to cereal or hot chocolate.
