Ich habe drei Filme meines Fünfteilers #UmsLand Saar auf tube.tchncs geladen, aber noch privat. A small human (3?) in a green hat is told by his mum not to run ahead as they navigate a busy crowd. He turns and huffs a long suffering sigh: "But I'm showing you the way so you don't get lost!"

A big man with sleeve tatts and a shaved head is sitting on a bench near the markets with his big staffy keeping him company. Big Man and Big dog are resting their heads against each other. Both human and dog are smiling in happiness. This is real love.

Seeing all these brilliant scientist colleagues, media people and climate/biodiversity activists arrive here in #fediverse makes me wonder:

What if we just all left that bird place for those virile car fetishists and hate speech lovers ... and came here for information and truly serious conversations about the way towards a better world for our children?

Three observations about Facebook trends:
1) The use of anonymous posts makes it even harder to distinguish propaganda from idiocy. This accelerates the ‘race to the bottom’ that I did not think was possible.
2) The proliferation of machine-generated content is apparent an perhaps unnerving, but too new to form an opinion as to long term impact.
3) I feel less satisfaction using Facebook than in the past and far less than Mastodon. The only reason I keep using it is that almost everyone I know uses it and nobody I know uses Mastodon.
