The thing about transphobia is it's 90% simple misogyny: trans women get treated like uppity women who need to be put in our place and trans men get treated as "damaged women" who need to be "protected" from their own choices.

Trans women are degendered or misgendered the same way Black women often are, too, mocking our appearance and describing us as "men" in a derogatory manner, an insult transphobes know only works on us because we are women.
