Text:

"The science behind atmospheric rivers An atmospheric river (AR) is a flowing column of condensed water vapor in the atmosphere responsible for producing significant levels of rain and snow, especially in the Western United States. When ARs move inland and sweep over the mountains, the water vapor rises and cools to create heavy precipitation. Though many ARs are weak systems that simply provide beneficial rain or snow, some of the larger, more powerful ARs can create extreme rainfall and floods capable of disrupting travel, inducing mudslides and causing catastrophic damage to life and property.

"Over the past decade, #Dahlke’s experiments with submerging small plots have suggested 👉intentional #flooding can replenish aquifers without damaging either #groundwater quality or crops"👈

It is based on a law enacted in 2014:

"Big Tech says AI is booming. Wall Street is starting to see a bubble."

How unexpected. I mean, Big Tech is only spending billions and billions of dollars on half-baked stochastic parroting, which they want us to believe is a necessary addition to our lives, while making us even more dependent on their products.

Baby John's other Granny is over from Northern Ireland for a few days, and we all met up for lunch. John had been a bit out of sorts yesterday and today we noticed spots on his legs and face, so we think he has chicken pox, the poor wee mite. He still managed smiles and giggles, though. 🥰

I have the same Android phone (old then, no less) from about 5 years ago as now, and I'm not planning to replace it.
Why do people spend so much money for nothing? https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/article/2024/jul/27/my-new-iphone-symbolises-stagnation-not-innovation-and-a-similar-fate-awaits-ai
It's too damn expensive to 'be hip' isn't it?

most ads for new telephones seem to emphasize features that not only I do not want, but I actively NOT-want... the sort of thing where "if I can't shut that thing off, I don't want that phone at all and why should I pay for shit I think is actually bad and evil?

I will never trust a photograph taken with current Google Pixels, since the big feature Google seems to promote is falsification of images.

I'm suddenly freezing with a roaring headache that I thought was a migraine - which migraine meds didn't shift (its usually pretty fast to work). I feel exhausted and worn out. And I feel like gawking mh guts up.
I'm shivering & this is the temp in the front of the van where I'm sitting.
Someone around here has been coughing and sneezing going in and out of the carpark behind me for the last few days. I hope they didn't have covid & I really hope I don't have it

Piñata Economics, I like it, I will now dedicate my life and entire personality to it
Broke: Trickle Down Economics.
Woke: Piñata Economics. It's like Trickle Down Economics, except instead of fruitlessly waiting for the wealth to "trickle down," you beat the rich with a stick, until the money comes flowing out.
