Yesterday morning I logged in from home to do my job as a server engineer, heard about the problem, had a meeting with colleagues, and was able to implement the solution manually for a few dozen of our core servers with their help in about an hour. We were really lucky that enough of our servers remained unaffected to allow us to do the work remotely, and we were using virtual servers.

I also discovered that it was much faster just using the command prompt option in Windows Server recovery tools rather than actually booting into safe mode. By the end of it, I could apply the fix in about 2 minutes after connecting to the server. I know I was one of the lucky ones, though.

what about if it impacted me at life and work.

Indirectly, yes - no checkout at shops.
Personal computers and mobiles - no, don’t personally use windoze.

My employer's timesheet software was down all day. If it was any other day of the week, it wouldn't have been a problem.

at least I don’t think I have been affected? I did have two websites I was using yesterday both glitch over the same process (autopay). Hard to know if that was related or not.

my partner in the medical field was affected for a few hours. Personally not affected.

The one thing I'll say for him is that his job is not easy. But why the fuck you would declare all homeless people criminals when you have no place to house them escapes me entirely.

The ruling actually opens a can of lawsuit worms, as it applies to sanitation and Hygiene. Locally the city allows bike tours and other events to camp in parks. They'd have to apply the same rules, meaing portapotties and wash stations typically. You COULD ARRANGE to sue if your camp can't be proven unsanitary but they cite you anyway 😎 @punklawyer @GhostOnTheHalfShell

You need at least two levels of organization to successfully fight something like this. People who put their bodies on the line, set up their encampments knowing that they will be destroyed, and have lawyers ready to file, hopefully even before the sweeps. The only way the NAACP won Brown versus board of education was because they had an entire team of lawyers devoted to it who had been educated to the fight from the day they signed up for law school.

Finding lawyers with enough time and the willingness to pursue these things has always been a problem here. I'm one of the marginally affected. Solo camper who cold camps nightly on private property without any no trespass signs, so they'd be pushing their luck, but truth be told if you go to court on a camping or other nuisance cite around here the cops NEVER show up. They're literally racketeering on the chances you don't show, so they can eventually collect from the taxpayers. @punklawyer

Tried that here a few years ago. Got a temp restraining order but lost at court. Ross Camp. I got a month suspension on FB and a call from a local pd defective accusing me of domestic terrorism and/or inciting violence for suggesting on a page regarding the camp that if they REALLY wanted to resist they'd 'disable' (politely... not how I put it onsite 😎) the vehicles used to cart their stuff off while the police were busy destroying the camp. Convo went badly for the cop.🤣 (1/2) @punklawyer
