Thank you ❤️. Yes. BunMum’s systems are definitely failing. The past year has been a nightmare and there is no vocabulary to describe this.

Flaring autoimmune conditions with fevers and pain, wracking allergic cough from masks, UTI and peeing blood (sorry. got macrobid from pharm…). Just trying to hang on hun…. I’m so so sorry you’ve gone through similar experiences.💔 Sitting alone here with Dad and fiercely hoping they can extubate today and at least bring him some small relief.

Oh gosh, that's a world of distress. All you can really do is just be there for your dad and your mom. That's the hard part, being and not doing. I do believe your dad is aware of your presence and feels your love. There's so much we don't know about healing and communication; just because that power can't be measured doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I agree. As a scientist of observable nature Ceno also agrees there are different energies on planes we haven’t even scratched the surface of, and my experience supports this.

I stayed up over 30 hours and had good communications with nutritionist/nasop options etc, the nurse and plans, and was available for questions (what is this for? Ah, The last nurse prescribed it…) (cont.)

I bore witness to night nurses who didn’t realize there was an audience and was able to build a relationship with a brutally tough nurse who ended up going the extra mile for me wi th the resident on call. Unfortunately, the expected collapse has finally happened. My resp system is just inflamed in collapse, my UTI needs help after dehydration and I just can’t go in tomorrow. 45 min travel time is compounding this. I hope the care I was able to establish continues forward. (Cont.)

My own light is dimming and I will stay home tonight gathering up everything I have for tomorrow’s attempt. Please please let tomorrow be a good day. So often a good day follows a bad. Please. He wrote this the morning of the surgery. Forgive the teardrops.

Grave condition tonight💔, we are here. My mom, Ceno, brother and his wife stayed most time too in agony. Ceno and I are still here.

Nurse saw me and my brother in masks and said I want to know why . “He’s on a ventilator and can’t catch anything.” My brother was shocked and only stammered and pointed to me. I told her yes I am immunocompromised. (But I also wear to protect my dad.) None of her goddamn business. Absolute horror show at the worst moment of our lives in ICU.

4:57 am ❤️ I gave him one last daughter to Dad encouragement speech for today to rally and filled him with the greatest of love. It is indeed all out of my hands, you’re right. After living in the margins for two and a half weeks, I’m not even operating in the margins now. 😞

They’re still only allowing 2/persons at a time. Mom and Scott are resting for three hours before Ceno and I need to leave and attend to the buns.

At some level of awareness, your dad knows you're there, whether physically in the room or not. Things will be a blur for you, going in and out of focus. You try to wake from the nightmare, but part of you knows it's real. You're not alone, even when you feel like you are, and neither is your dad.
My father died in the ICU, on a ventilator, after being ill for a while, several years ago. The worst day of my life at the time.

Ceno and I came home to the buns. Mom and Scott are there. Some important indicators are improving this morning, including blood pressure and lactic acid, so we will keep our focus there.

It was emotional hell.The level of care & the staff were very competent & compassionate; before all the closures & cutbacks, so no delays. My mom was in denial, even when the doc explained things clearly. All those machines & cords & tubes.

Thank you. Rallied enough to attempt a 3rd wake-up off sedation in next 2 hours. Barrier has been the damn emergent delirium. Can’t follow commands = can’t protect airways = stay on ventilator. I’m at home, supposed to be sleeping. Getting updates from Scott. Nurse is a blessing today and going slow.

Yes, endless tubes. Drains. Cords. Bags. I sat outside briefly to try to channel natural energy and kept hearing the ICU alarms I heard all night. Inside I keep hearing the ventilator.

Denial is such a strong protection mechanism that can kick in. And there such a tricky balance between hope and realism. Nurse last night talked about Dad in past tense, jarring.

I relate to that feeling of it being a nightmare. There’s such a surreal quality. All I could say to Ceno all the way home was the world unbearable. Bottomless chasm of darkness and pain. Unbearable.

How stupid and cruel. No excuses, but it's probably her defense mechanism kicking in. May be on nights to minimize family contact. Should be on another ward for a while. Nobody should have to deal with that attitude. Try to pack that away and let some positive energy flow. He's still with you all, steeped in love.

These are encouraging developments. He's trying, really trying. We'll all keep hoping, like that banner in the entrance.
I remember my dad looking so small, dwarfed by all the equipment and screens. Quiet human voices mufled by the click and whoosh of the ventilator.
