This Senator's Clap Back Fully Gagged An MSNBC Anchor, And The Clip Is Going Viral

anchor Andrea Mitchell was fully gagged when New Mexico Senator Martin Heinrich responded to her age question.

"This country having an adult in the White House in 2025 is the only thing that matters," Senator Heinrich says.

"So, the age issue is off the table?" she asks back.

"For our party," he claps back.

And then she just sat there stunned.

Yes! Awesome to have those struggles but then figure it out (even if it takes some external help) and then get to move to the next little challenge/feature. It's all a very rewarding experience and yeah, having that ability to change nearly every aspect of the site to make it uniquely yours is so quintessential #IndieWeb.

Here's some (easier) ideas for things to add to your site, adding a lot more personal flavor - https://slashpages.net

Occam's razor (or Ockham's razor) is a principle from philosophy. Suppose an event has two possible explanations. The explanation that requires the fewest assumptions is usually correct. Another way of saying it is that the more assumptions you have to make, the more unlikely an explanation.

"Boutique tax credits" is a wonderfully named concept that explains so much contemporary dysfunction. It refers to public spending hiding in the tax code, spending that escapes much of the democratic process, favors both the wealthy and private service providers, and undercuts the ability to create publicly run services that target a much broader socioeconomic base.

Vibrio bacteria in #seafood: increased risk due to climate change and antimicrobial resistance

"The prevalence of Vibrio in seafood is expected to increase both globally and in Europe because of #ClimateChange, especially in low-salinity or brackish waters, according to EFSA’s latest assessment. Additionally, resistance to last-resort #antibiotics is increasingly found in some Vibrio species."

"Vibrio is a type of bacteria that can enter the human body after eating “uncooked or undercooked shellfish" or through an open wound in brackish water (the water found in areas where rivers meet the sea).

And while right now the bacteria is rare, the medical journal StatPearls noted that V. vulnificus “has the highest number of seafood-related deaths in the United States.” "

China continues to lead the world in wind and solar, with twice as much capacity under construction as the rest of the world combined.

It would be better if China's deployment of record levels of renewable energy capacity were put into context on why they're doing it.

They've not done anything towards lowering their emissions because they just keep increasing the amount of energy they're using to build three quarters of all the consumer products purchased on the planet.

Sure they're building massive solar farms, but they also imported the most coal than ever last month too.

A handsome grey tuxedo cat exudes tragic elegance while sitting up in white basket. Since he's a fifteen-pound chonker and the basket is a repurposed small fruit basket, there's clearly some tension with the fits-sits principle happening.

There are other options, like designing and manufacturing an all new part and sending it up via supply run to be installed.

And we're back to 'user-serviceable' - if it were a valve or circuit board, sure, I could see it. A software patch, easy.

But this is something Boeing did not figure out during a month of delays prior to launch, and has not figured out since.

we don't really have separate elections for pres and veep. they are a team.

there are weird cases where it can happen, which is why you keep seeing this thing about the pres and the veep can't be from the same state. Technically, they can, but the electors can only vote for a single position from the state the elector is representing. So if Kamala chose Newsom, all the California electors would have to choose which of the two to vote for, and then their other vote would have to be for someone else from another state (and Cali has 49 electors, one of the biggest states as electors go)

It can literally lead to a situation where you have a pres from one party and a veep from the other. (not too likely though, because as far as I know, no pres has ever tried choosing a veep from the same state)
