there are cities that are very nice to walk in, nice to bicycle in, with plenty of parking, and unseen to us, easy to deliver goods or take away garbage.

They are not 19th century cities. They are not even early 20th century cities. They are cities laid out relatively late in the 20th century when the idea that all these demands would be concurrent was well understood.

In a 19th century city it is unfortunately a fight for who needs that square yard of pavement outside a shop.

I’m seeing a lot more Akkoma + Mangane servers popping up.

This pleases me. It’s what I use for this server but also akkomane.social. I was an early adopter of this tech.

My approach has been vastly different compared to Firefish. Instead of saying, “Wow! This is incredible tech”, I’m just going, “Hey, you might like Akkoma + Mangane. Here’s a server to check out. If you like it, awesome. If you don’t, at least you tried it.”

My husband's fever seems to be responding to lots of fluid and Tylenol so we are waiting until Monday to go to the doctor.
We all wanted some fresh air this morning so we drove to the wildlife refuge trailhead.
Summer's pal was bundled up in the front seat with a hot chocolate and binoculars to watch the birds while Summer and I hiked off towards the mouth of the Eel River.
We didn't make it to the mouth but Summer found mud puddles the size of small ponds on the way.
We managed a good walk.
The only hiccup was when I lost the leash and had to send Summer back down the trail to find it. Luckily she brought it back.
The outside vibes were good medicine for all of us.

I have my car seats covered with towels. I check her for ticks, and shower her everytime we walk where she gets wet and dirty, which is pretty much everywhere we go. She is very patient while I clean her up. I always have to scrub her collar too.
I am reminded daily that she isn't a tiny dog.
