I think some - including Seth Meyers - mis-interpret Sir's ignorant and repetitive use of the word "groceries".
It's not (only) that he wants to claim he discovered the word and its magnificence (BLT!) - he's just developmentally at the level of a 4-5 year suddenly discovering the amazing notion of 'groceries', which most normal humans see and buy in stores.
