Ich frag mich ja, ob der Musk-Tweet hinsichtlich der AfD das Geschäft von Tesla in Deutschland nicht völlig zerstört. Ich glaube nicht so recht, das es eine grosse Schnittmenge zwischen AfD-Wählern und Elektrofahrern gibt, insbesondere jenen, die sich einen Tesla leisten können. Und die sich ein solches Fahrzeug leisten können, werden sich jetzt vermutlich eher angewidert umdrehen ... wenn sie es nicht schon längst haben. Der verbleibende Restmarkt wird eher klein sein.

If you were an emperor and were going to die soon and needed an heir, what steps would you take to help further assure you that the heir you were about to choose took things in the intended direction?

This was always an issue in Rome. People were afraid their heirs would turn out to secretly be wannabe dictators, and you couldn't do anything about it since you were dead. How would you go about making sure your heir was as close to your vision as possible, both outwardly and in their desires should they be emperor?

In ancient Rome, the sitting emperor often would choose a successor from, well anybody really, often not even a relation. They then adopted that person. If one has to have hereditary rulers, this seems a fairly sensible way to go about it.

Verbraucherschützer kritisieren PayPals unsicheren Gastzahlungprozess

Der WDR berichtet von einer Warnung der Verbraucherzentrale Nordrhein-Westfalen vor unberechtigten Abbuchungen vom eigenen Konto durch PayPal. Genutzt wird dabei der sogenannte Gastzahlungsprozess bei PayPal.

WDR.de beschreibt den Vorgang so: "Diese Funktion erlaubt es Nutzern, ohne ein eigenes PayPal-Konto (und ohne die damit verbundene Verifizierung) Zahlungen auszuführen. Stattdessen geben sie lediglich eine IBAN an, und der Betrag wird per Lastschrift vom Bankkonto abgebucht."

Dabei wird weder eine TAN-Nummer wie früher üblich, noch wird die aktuell übliche Zwei-Faktor-Authentifizierung benötigt. Warum diese eigentlich mindestens notwendige Sicherheitsfeatures nicht eingesetzt werden, muss man sich ernsthaft fragen. Dies wäre umso mehr notwendig, wenn es sich um einen praktisch "anonymen Gastzugang" handelt.

Die Geschädigten merken die unberechtigten Abbuchungen nur, wenn sie ihre Kontoauszüge regelmäßig kontrollieren. Es ist also wichtig, dass man Überweisungsbelege mit der eigenen IBAN nicht irgendwo wegwirft, wo Fremde darauf Zugriff bekommen können. Genauso wenig sollte man die eigene IBAN nicht auf irgendwelchen Webseiten hinterlassen und nicht Pishings-Mails damit beantworten.

Verbraucherschützern machen für solche Betrugsvorgänge die unzureichenden Sicherheitsvorkehrungen bei PayPal verantwortlich. Was sollte man machen, wenn es passiert ist?
  • Sofort die eigenen Bank informieren und den Berag zurückbuchen lassen,
  • PayPal über den Vorgang informieren (mehr oder wenig freundlich!),
  • bei der Polizei Anzeige gegen Unbekannt erstatten,
  • nicht vergessen, regelmäßig die eigenen Kontoauszüge nach unberechtigten Abbuchen kontrollieren.
Abschließend bleibt natürlich die Forderung an PayPal Zahlungsvorgänge durch eine Sicherheitsprüfung (SMS, TAN, Zwei-Faktor-Authentifizierung) abzusichern.

China testet sehr beweglichen Hilfspolizisten

In den nebenstehend abgebildeten Gehäusen stecken noch Menschen, doch in China wurden bereits Polizeistreifen beobachtet, die von einem Kugelroboter begleitet werden. Dieser soll 160 Kilogramm schwer sein und besitzt einen Durchmesser von 0,8 Metern. Er/sie oder es kann in 2,5 Sekunden auf 30km/h beschleunigen und kann auf kurzen Distanzen dank einer im Innern beweglichen Pendelmasse sehr schnell die Richtung ändern.

Das Gerät ist mit Wurfnetzen bewaffnet, um flüchtende Personen aufzuhalten. Ob zu seiner "polizeilichen Ausrüstung" auch andere Waffen gehören, ist nicht bekannt. Wie die Teflon Bratpfanne soll er/sie/es ein Abfallprodukt der Weltraumforschung sein und eigentlich als Roboterfahrzeug für den Planeten Merkur entwickelt worden sein. Damit kommt seine Temperaturfestigkeit ja dem erwarteten Klimawandel sehr entgegen ...

Ansonsten kann er klaglos bis zu 10 Stunden ununterbrochen arbeiten und dabei bis zu 120 Kilometer zurücklegen. Durch seine Kugelform gibt es nur wenig Reibungsverluste bei seiner Bewegung und auch Feuchtigkeit beeinträchtigt die Funktion nicht. Ein Bild zeigt der verlinkte Artikel.
